Joiner measuring a timber board in the workshop

A clear tender package gets you a firm price faster and fewer surprises later. Here is what helps us, and most joinery subcontractors, price accurately.

Drawings

  • Plans and elevations showing each joinery item
  • Design intent drawings with key dimensions and details
  • Any existing survey information, especially for refurbishments

Specification

  • Materials and finishes: veneer species, laminate references, paint colours, worktop materials
  • Ironmongery and hardware, or a budget allowance if not yet chosen
  • Fire ratings, acoustic requirements and any accessibility standards

Scope and programme

  • Supply only, or supply and fit
  • Who is responsible for site measurement and shop drawings
  • Target dates for site access, installation and completion
  • Site constraints: access, working hours, storage space

What slows a tender down

Missing finishes, unclear scope and drawings that conflict with each other. If the design is still moving, we can price the items that are fixed and give budget figures for the rest.

After the order

We produce shop drawings for your approval before anything is made, then measure on site once walls are in. Typical shop drawing turnaround: X days.
